Rescue Day

Training Today, Ready to Save Tomorrow

Rescue Day was held on October 18, 2025, at Cenote Eden, bringing together members of CREER (Comité Regional de Espeleobuceo, Ecología y Regulación) for a full day dedicated to hands-on training and collaboration.

The event focused on enhancing rescue and emergency response skills, reinforcing safety and preparedness within the cave diving community. Activities included a rescue kit demonstration, CCR malfunction management, coordination with local authorities, and practical in-water sessions such as diver towing and casualty extraction.

Participants also examined real-life incidents in cenotes such as Maravilla, Calavera, Gran Cenote, Nariz, and Dos Ojos to draw key lessons and strengthen preventive strategies.

Through focused instruction and active participation, the Rescue Day provided an excellent opportunity for members to refine their technical and procedural competencies, strengthen teamwork, and contribute to a safer and more prepared diving community across Quintana Roo’s cave systems.
