cenote dive guide registration

The CREER registration system has been created for cave diving professionals to facilitate registration for the new “Guía de Buceo en Cenote” certificate, which will be required to provide access into the majority of the cenotes in Quintana Roo in the future.

The system will enable participants to register in one step by entering their personal and professional information; sign the statement of acceptance of responsibility; letter of acceptance and commitment to observe the cenote diving rules; and complete the medical questionnaire. These forms will be provided during the registration process for completion and signature. All other documents will be upload to the system.

The registration is free of charge and should take no longer than 15 minutes if you have all documents ready for uploading.

Before starting the registration process, it is recommended that applicants have read the Manual for Cenote Dive Guides, have a recent head shot photo (maximum size 500KB or less, type jpeg, jpg,png) and copies of the following documents available for uploading:

  • INE or national passport or, in case of foreigners 1.) a copy of the migratory document that allows you to work in the country in diving activities, and 2.) a copy of your national passport;

    • (ii) new guides: please add a copy of the letter of endorsement from a cave instructor registered as “Evaluador de Guías de Buceo en Cenotes” of CREER

  • signed letter of support from a dive business (the sample letter can be downloaded here carta responsiva de respaldo de un negocio de buceo) accompanied by a copy of its tax registration (Alta de Hacienda) if you are affiliated with a dive business; and
  • copy of your RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes). Note: If you are concerned about confidentiality, cover your RFC number and address.

One of the requirements for registration is to upload all required documents in one (1) single pdf document. This can be done with Adobe Acrobat Merge PDFs or simply scan all your documents with the Adobe Scan Mobile App. For Mac users this can be done with Preview (view as thumbnails, then drag and drop).

Note: To avoid that your registration is delayed or rejected, please make sure that you are including all requested documents in your pdf document.

Be part of the initiative! Enjoy the results of your direct contribution during your next visit!

The ever-increasing number of visiting divers to our mesmerizing cenotes requires hundreds of permanent system markers as they get worn out with time and a number of cavern and cave lines to be replaced and constantly updated.

Further, we like our CREER Rescue Team to be prepared in case of an incident/accident by installing “emergency go-bags” in several locations.

There is also work in process to install signposts, presenting information of the cenotes and the fascinating hydrology, so divers can learn more about them.

And, we need to upkeep our website to provide updates as well as to maintain the different registration systems.

Moderators are volunteering their time to discuss and implement those projects, but all costs money…LOTS of money!

Please donate today and help us raise funds to maintain a safe environment in the cenotes for everyone!
