The first vote using the virtual line committee system is open from Sept 26- October 3, 2019.  The decision is an important one as it will put rules in place for what sort of line we use in future.

To help people make an informed decision, we have prepared some samples with all the types of line under consideration. These will be placed in various dive shops and at dive sites, initially at Cenote Republic (Dos Ojos), ProTec Tulum, Under the Jungle, and Dive Rite in Playa.

Given the importance of this for cave conservation and safety, the elected moderators have decided to make a recommendation on what line we think would be best. The recommendation is:

Caverns where cavern tours take place – Gold Kernmantle Line
High traffic caves and designated training caves – #24 Braided Line
Other caves – Twisted or braided line – #18, #21 or #24
